Most mornings I read a little something from my Bible. Some days I just skim the passage, probably with my mind on something else far less important but much more distracting. Other days, I soak up every word, searching the notes in my study Bible and feeling refreshed by every drop of wisdom and truth.
And then there are days like today. There are days when I’m clinging more than reading. There are times when I providentially “stumble” across a verse that speaks to the urgent needs of my heart. And while I am holding onto the beauty of the passage, God brings the right amount of trials into my life to make me tighten my grip even more.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13
That’s the verse I’ve read a dozen times today. That’s the verse I’ve prayed over. It’s the one I’ve begged for the grace to believe in and the strength to live out. It was a gift from God today.
