Lately, I’ve been getting tired in the afternoons.
The kind of tired that makes me want to sit down on the kitchen floor and take a nap instead of making dinner.
The kind of tired that almost hurts.
And it started hitting me every single afternoon. I don’t even know how I managed to push through each day.
Then, finally, I got this bright idea. (Hey, it happens sometimes.) It suddenly occurred to me that maybe, just maybe, I was a little dehydrated.
My first clue was the fact that I couldn’t remember the last time I’d downed a full glass of water. I’m quick like that.
My second clue was….well….I was too tired to think of a second one.
So, on my way out the door to yet another baseball game, I grabbed a bottle of water out of the fridge. After drinking just half of it, I was a whole new person. I honestly couldn’t believe the difference in how I felt. The exhaustion was gone, and an energy took its place.
Even after my water epiphany, I still tend to forget the water until I’m dragging. I have “drink water” on my Morning To Do List. Of course, I also have “water plants” on the list, and if you want to know how thats going, just take a look at the picture up there.
Any questions? Didn’t think so.
I thought that maybe if I say it here, I’ll actually remember to fill a glass with the good stuff a few times a day.
Then, hopefully, I won’t feel like my poor ‘ol plant.
Now it’s Thrive @ Home time! And just so you know, we’ll be taking a vacation from Thrive @ Home next week as we celebrate the July 4th holiday with our families.
The Thrive @ Home blog hop, hosted by myself, Jenni Mullinix, and Audra Michelle,
is a place for women in all seasons of life to encourage one another to thrive – not just survive – in their roles at home.
