I love chocolate. I don’t like it. I LOVE it. Really. My husband knows this. So, when I told him I was trying to think of a good Valentine’s recipe, he suggested I try this cup of chocolate goodness that they serve at his restaurant. Let me just tell you that my man knows me. This hot chocolate is like true love…in a cup. With marshmallows. Just when I think that I couldn’t possibly adore my sweetie more than I already do, he gives me this chocolate. I love that guy!
CUP OF CHOCOLATE
makes 4 regular cups or 2 giant cups
4 cups whole milk
6 oz. high quality chocolate (approx. 1 cup)
Homemade Whipped Cream (recipe follows)
In a medium saucepan melt chocolate with the milk over medium heat. Stir constantly so it doesn’t scorch. When melted and heated through, put a large spoon of whipped cream into each cup. Pour chocolate mixture into cup, over whipped cream. Top with marshmallows. Yum!
Homemade Whipped Cream
1 cup whipping cream
1 Tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
In a chilled mixing bowl, beat cream, sugar, and vanilla on low speed for about 30 seconds. Gradually increase speed to medium and then to high. Continue beating until the cream is thick and forms peaks, as desired.
