As we are continuing to work through the Clutter-Free Clean series, we want to keep thinking about the high-impact areas of our homes that need our attention. So far this week, we’ve worked on the refrigerator and the pantry. Now, let’s tackle some of the clutter that stares at us every day.
We are going to work on clearing off the flat surfaces in the kitchen.
Let’s get rid of all the “junk” cluttering up the kitchen floor, the counters, the top of the microwave, the table, on and on. If you can see it as soon as you peek into the kitchen, then deal with it now. Let’s stop cringing every time we walk into the most-used room in the house (which is probably a lot!).
Now, this might be a two minute job for you. Or, it could be a week-long chore. Take whatever time you need to get it done. Spread it out over several days if you need to, but doing nothing isn’t going to solve the problem. Believe me, I’ve tried that approach!
If you get task finished and need something else to work on in the kitchen, you can print these cleaning and organizing lists for additional ideas. And if this chore seems like it’s too big, try some of these ideas for what to do when there’s just too much to clean.
You can do this! Grab a timer, and let’s get to it!
