To Do Lists

"Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,
making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
(Ephesians 5:15-16)

My husband is off work today....and we need to do some schoolwork if we're ever going to finish this school year....and the house is a mess from a busy weekend....and there's a never ending list of things to get done....do I need to go on?

Seriously, there's so much I'd like to get done today, but I need to be wise with my time. People first. That needs to be my mantra. I'll do what I can to get this place put back in order and back on track, but what doesn't get done today will still be waiting for me tomorrow. People first. People first. People first. (Easier said than done!)

Here's what I have planned for the day in this edition of The Daily Plan-It:

My Morning To Do List-if all else fails, I at least need to get this done. This list will really help get things whipped back into shape.
--Quiet Time
--Drink Water
--Dressed, Make-Up, Hair
--Make Bed
--Kitchen and Dishes
--Wipe Up Bathrooms
--Start Laundry
--Water Plants
--Early Meal Prep

My Daily To Do List-this will help my day go a whole lot smoother. I'm not sure if I'll do much from this list, but it's nice to have it handy if I find a few spare minutes lying around.
--Drink water
--Fast fifteen
--Weekly tasks
--Monthly tasks
--Finish laundry
--Quick clean-up
--Fix dinner
--Kitchen and dishes
--Prep for tomorrow

My Weekly To Do List
--Today I want to clip my coupons, file my coupons, start my grocery list, and empty the trash and recycling. It looks like a lot, but these things are either simple or enjoyable. And if I don't get to them, our lives will still go on.

My Monthly To Do List
--Nothing for today. Just general pick-up and put-back. I think it's going to be that kind of day.

Are you ready for a new week? I want my home to be a place of peace....a place where God is glorified (even if the laundry isn't folded!). That's my goal. What's yours?

"Search me, O God, and know my heart!
Try me and know my thoughts!
And see if there be any grievous way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting!"
(Psalm 139:23-24)

I had one of those days yesterday. Not good. It was not a day I'm particularly proud of.

Today, I'm going to stick to basics. Since I know I've been struggling a bit with feeling overwhelmed, I don't want to load up my day with things I might not have the energy (or attitude) to do.

Homeschooling, general clean-up, laundry, meals. Those things will be my main focus. I'd like to finish the weekly cleaning jobs I didn't finish yesterday, catch-up on some paperwork that needs done, and do a little organizing, but I'll only get to those things if I think I can do them without losing my mind.

Here's what I have planned for the day in this edition of The Daily Plan-It:

--Make Bed
--Kitchen and Dishes
--Wipe Up Bathrooms
--Start Laundry
--Water Plants

My Daily To Do List-this will help my day go a whole lot smoother. I'll do as many of these things as I can, but I'm not going to worry about what I can't get to.
--Drink water
--Fast fifteen
--Weekly tasks
--Monthly tasks
--Finish laundry
--Quick clean-up
--Fix dinner
--Kitchen and dishes
--Prep for tomorrow

My Weekly To Do List
--I still need to clean the bathrooms, wipe down the mirrors, and mop the floors....if possible.

My Monthly To Do List
--I'd like to straighten the laundry room shelves and clear out any clutter hanging around (like the "stuff" that piles up on top of the dryer). If I don't get this done, I know the task will still be waiting for me tomorrow. No pressure.

I'm smiling right now, and I'd like to keep it that way! I'll put on some music, do one thing at a time, and try to keep my focus where it should be...on the cross of Christ.

What do you have planned for the day? Tell us about it!

"Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God,
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand."
(Isaiah 41:10)

After a few days of being off schedule, I'm hoping to recover some time - and my home - today. It's another mixed-up day around here, but I'll do the best I can. At least if I have a plan, I can make an effort to stay on track and get this place whipped back into shape.

My Weekly To Do List
--I usually try to spread these tasks out over the course of the week, but last week I was able to get most of the cleaning tasks done in one day. It felt great! I'm going to try the same thing today, so I won't worry about doing any Monthly To Do tasks.
--Today I want to empty the trash and recycling, vacuum, dust, clean the bathrooms, wipe down the mirrors, and maybe even mop the floors.

My Monthly To Do List
--I'm not going to do anything extra today. Just doing some basic cleaning and straightening will be more than enough.

It's cloudy, rainy, and a little cold outside today. It's going to take lots of prayer and grace to keep it sunny inside my home and heart. I'm ready to get going on a busy day!

What do you have planned for the day? Tell us in the comments!

but the word of our God will stand forever."

My Weekly To Do List
--I'm going to wash my sheets and clean out my purse. Quick and easy!

My Monthly To Do List
--This week I'm hitting some of the often forgotten spots in and around my home. Today I want to clean the junk out of the mini-van and tackle a couple of my list breakers.

Are you ready? I know I am. Let's get to it!

"But the angel said to the women, 'Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for he has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where he lay.' "

My Weekly To Do List
--I usually try to spread these tasks out over the course of the week. Unfortunately, as the week goes on, I seem to get less and less accomplished. This week, I'm going to try to get most of my weekly cleaning tasks done today, but I won't worry about doing any Monthly To Do tasks.

My Monthly To Do List
--I'm doing a big nothing for this category today. I haven't even updated my list for this week yet. I'll work on making my list today.

I'm anxious to see what I can get accomplished today! So much to do....I'd better get started. What do you have planned for today?

"He gives power to the faint,
and to him who has no might he increases strength."
(Isaiah 40:29)

This has been a challenging week. Again. Of course, aren't they all? I've had to evaluate my priorities countless times over the past few days. And again and again, my best laid plans have been laid aside. There have been children to teach and discipline and comfort. There have been people, both big and little, to listen to and to love. There have been many important things demanding my time and attention.

So, my house isn't what I wish it was, but I think my family is better for it. Today I'll try to get a little more done, but I don't know what the day will hold. I hope that regardless of my feeble accomplishments, I will glorify God through my heart attitude and my hard work. Now that is sure to be a challenge!

My Daily To Do List-this will help my day go a whole lot smoother.

My Weekly To Do List
--There's a lot that I've gotten done this week....and a lot that I haven't. I'll continue work on catching up on what I've missed. I still need to clip my coupons, file my coupons, clean out my purse, and make a grocery list.

My Monthly To Do List
--This week I'm focusing on the Kitchen. I'm still working on clearing out clutter in the cabinets and cleaning up the cabinet under the sink.

By the grace of God, I hope to get a few more things marked off my lists. And, also by God's grace, I hope to to have a joyful day! What do you have planned for the day?
