Can you believe we are at the end of another month? Where does the time go?!? Well, while I’m trying to figure out the answer to that age-old question, I think I’ll work on some of my “List Breakers”.
What’s a “List Breaker”? Well, in case you haven’t noticed, I like lists. You can read about some of my lists. One of my most valuable lists is my “Daily To Do List”, where I write the odds-and-ends that need done for each particular day. I have a “To Do List” for every day, and I try to accomplish everything on it…um, almost.
I have certain items on my list that I really don’t want to do. I know they need done, but I would rather do other things instead. Maybe it’s because I know that I can mark off three quick jobs in the time it will take me to do those one or two dreaded tasks. Maybe it’s because I’ve put them off for so long that it starts feeling normal. Or, maybe I just get lazy. But whatever the reason, those few things keep getting moved to tomorrow’s list…then the next day’s…then the next. They are “List Breakers.”
Wouldn’t it feel good to get those “List Breakers” done? It would be nice to finish the month with a clean slate – and a clean “To Do List”! So, for the next couple of days, we’ll be attacking those tasks that stare at us day after day. Whether the list is written on paper or just floating around in your head, we’ll finally mark off those jobs, big or small, that make us feel guilty even when we complete a dozen other items. Let’s get out the sewing kit, make that dentist appointment, or sort through the pile of papers on the counter. Whatever your “List Breakers” are, let’s kiss them good-bye.
Now, get ready…set…go!

Back at the end of January, I decided to take some time to concentrate on my “List Breakers”. It was such a productive time for me, that I think I’m going to incorporate some “List Breaker” challenges into my Monthly To Do List at the end of every month. What’s a “List Breaker”? In case you haven’t noticed, I like lists. I have book lists, recipe lists, and grocery lists. But my favorite is my “To Do List.” I have a “To Do List” for every day, and I try to accomplish everything on it…well, almost. I have certain items on my list that I really don’t want to do. I know they need done, but I would rather do other things instead.

So, for this week (and maybe the rest of the month), we’ll be attacking those tasks that stare at us day after day. Whether the list is written on paper or just floating around in your head, we’ll finally mark off those jobs, big or small, that make us feel guilty even when we complete a dozen other items.
