Bathrooms

When we started working on the bathrooms for this week's Monthly To Do List, we knew this day would come, right? This is "potty" cleaning day. I do a quick clean on the toilets every day as part of "wiping up the bathrooms" for my Morning To Do List. But today, I'll try to disinfect and clean every part of them. I'll be sure to hit the back, base, and little curvy (hard to clean) places. This is also a good time to clean the floor and wall behind the toilets. Especially if you have little boys. Enough said.

If you've been doing my Morning To Do List with me, then this challenge shouldn't be too tough. Every morning I wipe up my bathroom sink. Today, I'm going to take it a couple steps further. I'll make sure to clean away any crud that may be around the faucet (an old toothbrush is helpful). I'll also scrub off the dried-on hairspray and any dust that has accumulated. Finally, I'll clean around the drain, as needed. This sounds like a lot, but it will only take a few minutes.

Assuming that the sink is a quick job, I'll also tackle my medicine cabinet. If you keep medicine in yours (I don't), then sort through them and responsibly discard what's expired. (Important note: Check online for information on disposing of medications, and remember your curious kids! No trips to the ER, please!) I'll quickly wipe down the shelves, get rid of any empty bottles or tubes, and organize the rest. Finish the job by shining the mirrors.

If this job is too big (or if you have too many bathrooms) for one day, feel free to break up this task to fit your schedule. Now, grab a timer and a spray bottle. Your sink is waiting for you!

For my Monthly To Do List, I'm working on the bathrooms this week, and today I'm doing the one (and only) bathroom cleaning task that I enjoy. I'm cleaning out and organizing the vanity cabinets. Now, for you, this may mean the cabinet under your sink (like mine), or it may mean a separate cabinet where you keep all your "bathroom stuff".

I'll throw away any boxes or bottles that are empty, and I'll wipe up any dust or spills. Then I'll organize and put away what's left. Small baskets make this an easy job and keep the space looking nice.

Finally, I'll restock any supplies that I already have, and I'll add any other things to my grocery list. The end. Pretty easy, and I feel like I accomplished something. Gotta love that feeling!
