I'm breaking a rule. I'm not normally a rule-breaker, but I think I'm going to live on the wild side today. You may want to sit down for this one (I know I want to). Are you ready?
I'M NOT MAKING A MENU PLAN.
I'll probably regret it, but it's our vacation. I want a vacation from meal planning, too. I can always turn to the few ideas I came up with last week. If we still have any of that food left in the house. Who knows.
This week, even though we're in town, we have lots of softball and baseball games. We're also planning to work on our house a lot. This means easy evening meals will be needed. I'll pick up some lunchmeat, bread, and chips at the store when I'm out today. As far as our other meals, we'll go out to eat some and make quick trips to the grocery store whenever we find a recipe we want to try. It's just going to be that kind of week.
Here's this week's menu plan...sort of.
BREAKFAST
Breakfasts will look pretty normal around here this week, although I may make some special muffins or pancakes if the urge arises. But don't count on it.
Leftover pancakes
Homemade granola (need to make some)
Pumpkin muffins
Cereal
Oatmeal
Eggs
Toast
Yogurt
Fruit
LUNCH
Lunch will be the meal when we'll go out to eat or try a recipe at home. I'm thinking some homemade mac-and-cheese sounds great. My hubby found a recipe online yesterday. I think I could eat it every. single. day. Hey, it's vacation. I can eat it everyday if I want to (I'm breaking rules left and right around here!).
DINNER
Dinners will need to be simple. I hate coming home from a ballgame after normal bedtime and needing to make a full meal while tossing the kids into the shower and pj's. I'm spent be that time of night. Easy. No fuss. No cooking.
Take-out pizza
Frozen pizza, salad
Lunchmeat sandwiches, chips, veggies and dip
Hot dogs, chips, veggies and dip
Be sure to check out more menu ideas over at Menu Plan Monday.
